Our Story
GWC Group traces its roots to a family long associated with road construction in Northeast India. What began as hands-on contracting experience on the ground grew into a deliberate move upstream — into manufacturing the materials that roads are actually built with. GWC Asphalt was set up first, followed by Kamakhya Constructions to address road safety and furniture, then GWC Rebars to bring next-generation GFRP reinforcement to Indian infrastructure. Today, GWC Udyog ties the Group’s full portfolio together as a single, pan-India commercial and distribution platform.
Each business was built to solve a real, on-the-ground problem the promoters had seen first-hand as contractors — inconsistent bitumen quality, steel that corrodes in demanding environments, road furniture that doesn’t meet IRC standards. That practical, project-first perspective still shapes how every GWC company designs, tests and supports its products today.
